About Me
Hello!
Hi, I’m Oliver Corrigan, a friendly and enthusiastic Computer Science student currently studying a BSc Computer Science with a year in industry at the University of East Anglia. I'm curious, always keen to learn "what does that do", and thrive when working in a team!
Interests
I am interested in a variety of topics within software development, most recently including: AI and machine learning, backend databases and networks (I love the logic behind them!), UI/UX design and building electronics (including robots). I'm still discovering my niche!
Outside Tech
In my spare time, you can often find me playing violin (particularly folk music!), indoor bouldering, or supporting wildlife conservation projects and charities, including the Suffolk Hedgehog Hospital (the cause behind my AI wildlife detection app - MammalID!)
Background & Experience
I am passionate about creating projects that solve real world problems. I love to build solutions with either programming, electronics, 3D printing or a mix of all three!
Software Experience
I have first-hand experience working with a large codebase, modernising and maintaining code across multiple frameworks with Git, and reviewing and proposing changes to keep production releases stable and reliable.
I've used a range of different languages and frameworks, across my robotics work and throughout my personal projects for clients and coursework.
Hardware Experience
Throughout my projects, I have also gained hardware skills including soldering, circuit design, and 3D CAD modelling and printing. I really enjoy building projects across the entire stack!
